FCS held the third of its regional meetings for 2008 in Leeds on Wednesday 17th September.

The meeting which was hosted by law firm Eversheds at their central Leeds offices was in two parts; the FSPA session which took place in the morning was dedicated to fixed telephony issues and the afternoon meeting focused on Business Radio sessions.

The FSPA meeting which ran from 10.00 to 13.00 was chaired by John Ledingham-Smith of Excel Telecom and the agenda included the following:

• Progress on the implementation of WLR3 and withdrawal of WLR2
• Number Portability, the new central database and the creation of Portco
• Update on changes to the 0870 and 0871 ranges
• report from the FCS VoIP Group

The Business Radio meeting ran from 14.00 to 17.00 chaired by Jacqui Brookes.

The guest speaker was Paul Jarvis, Ofcom's Head of Business Radio, who provided a detailed summary of Ofcom's Business Radio Licensing Reform
